I fear that if MLE can connect the dots and they choose to act, that Draco's post may put my family in fresh danger. Since at present, we know they are not being actively watched, I'd like to leave Dover early this afternoon to talk to my mother about casting fidelius on the property. Before my father comes home from the Ministry. I think if he's presented with the fidelius as fait accompli he'll go along, but if asked would turn it down because of his obsessive need to see the best in everything and out of a need to show loyal. I'd like someone to come along who is more practiced with oblivation and casting fidelius. I could do either if I had to but would rather someone with a defter hand and more practice do both, given that it's my mother.

I'm including you Molly, because I'd like to apparate to your house and walk over from there after recovering. If you are available and could go in first to separate her from the littles and Jenni to minimize the number of people who might need to be oblivated, I would appreciate it.

I can see how you'd want to prevent this from coming to your family's doorstep, even though your specific fate is still ambiguous.

Would you be thinking of casting Fidelius and then obliviating your mother as to who cast it, and the fact that you were alive, or is this a precaution in case she turns your offer down? Because I would see this move as something they could not return from -- once it's done, your father would not be able to return to his place of work, and your family would need to consider this as a permanent state until circumstances change drastically.

I was thinking obliviation if they said no, so she wouldn't remember seeing me.

If they chose fidelius I'm confident my mother and the littles could. My father is another issue. A part of the package deal of offering to fidelius the property would be either he's in and stays in or he's shut out and doesn't know the secret. I feel so cold saying that, but it might be the only option to keep the most of them safe.

And there's Jaspar at Hogwarts. It feels more and more like Hogwarts is a giant holding pen for hostages against everyone's good behaviour. I don't know if that's solvable before summer.

I've just remembered, there's an out building on the edge of the property. Father has his fishing stuff, our camping tents and such like. We could offer to fidelius that as a bolt hole if they can stock it with supplies.

If we do the bolt hole option, my father wouldn't even need to be told until it was immediately necessary.

Anything we do would leave Jaspar out in the cold, and I am uncertain of our ability to extract him without tipping the balance to a full scale exodus.

I would recommend making this a very small footprint -- a bolt hole that only your mother has knowledge of would be the best possible of these scenarios, if you are absolutely certain she would be capable of keeping confidences from your father until absolutely needed.

I would like to go ahead and offer her that option then. I'll apparate to the Burrow in a few minutes. If we have to oblivate her, we have to oblivate her.

We managed to keep the children from finding out. She was overwhelmed to see Cedric. Wept all over him; it brought tears to my eyes. And then she gave me a proper tongue lashing for not letting her know. Then she gave me a tongue lashing for keeping it from her, too. Cedric was absolutely wonderful with her.

She agreed that it probably isn't safe to say anything to Amos, and so the bolt hole was the option they settled on. She didn't want to be obliviated; I can't imagine she wanted to forget that her son was alive.

I gave her some calming potion in her tea (with her permission), so that she can face Amos tonight without completely falling apart. I think it will be difficult for her to keep the secret from him, but she absolutely knows why it's important. And she'll do it.

We set up some security protocols, she's been putting candles in the windows for me. Certain arrangements mean that it's safe, she's not sure, she believes they are being watched and an emergency.

I gave her some pass phrases to use if someone that isn't me or Molly approaches her. I suspect that she would trust any of the Weasley's even without that.

We didn't get the chance to discuss Jenni's situation, but I believe that on the scale from the Carrows to the 'Ponds' they are treating her almost as well as the 'Ponds', at least I never saw them abuse her.

I'm sure it did your heart good to tell her the truth. I'm glad we were able to lift that one burden from you, and I know it will set your mind at ease that your family will have a place to retreat to, if worst comes to worst.

I always knew how proud Maisie was of you and how much she loves you. It was lovely to see it in person today.

Thank you for your help today. I means so very much to me that I've been able to reassure Mum and give the whole family some measure of security. I wish it was practical for me to have seen the littles, but I understand the necessity of not letting them see me.

I am available, Cedric, and of course I'll do anything I can to help. I drop in on Maisie all the time to share tea, so once you're here, I can go ahead and suggest a comfortable cose with her, just the two of us.
